Ah rats, I was hoping for something new (and I suppose less police-heavy, though yes; given the situation the communes exist within it’s understandable why they’re somewhat regressive in specifically keeping that aspect of the social hierarchy)

What on earth does that have to do with either argentine communes being old news or them having a concerningly regressive approach to community governance which relies heavily on direct enforcement?

🤔 Enlighten flipanarchy how Illinois does this?

Are you free associating or… you just don’t want to explain the relevance here.

edit: oh god it’s you, I thought you’d blocked me. lmfao been a while since you tried this shit, how’ve you been anti?

Eeh, sorta. Anti dabbles in trolling sure, but they only do it because they feel that they’re fully justified & defending the ideals of good and right in the world (ideals which I’d like to note, I fully align with).

If we’re being totally honest, I think they’d be a perfectly pleasant person if they committed to some therapy and removed themselves from their extremely toxic living environment - living several alternative lifestyles in japan is clearly doing them no favors. Buuuuut all that doesn’t really excuse their behavior. Anti has, at various times, accused me of being: a man, a nazi, a zionist, an anti-semite, engaged in a prolonged and targeted campaign to promote fascist ideals on Lemmy, and on several rather hilarious occasions a hacker that’s able to manipulate lemmy instances at will and that I use this skill to change the “edited” indicator on my comments just to mess with them (this one comes down to a misunderstanding of how edits are displayed between lemmy/piefed).

Bottom line they’re harmless, and their nonsense can even be a pretty entertaining interlude in this sea of depressing news and political infighting.

                    Well, duh?

I explicitly came here asking to be enlightened, not seeking to enlighten. Especially about fascist policing habits in a city on an entirely separate continent. You were the one asking to be enlightened about Illinois, not me.

Here’s a link to the full comment thread, if anyone’s curious. Fair warning it’s long long, and it gets pretty depressing towards the end. I’d forgotten about it, and rereading it was something of a downer. I don’t think I was wrong, but I was for sure on the “brutal” side of the brutal/honesty spectrum by the time we hit comment depth.
