Maybe I’m a bit off, but out of all those ‘bases’, aren’t a nontrivial number of them literally just an office on someone else’s base? A sole soldier sitting in a base in the middle of somewhere counts as a ‘military base’ if they are supposed to be there.

Let’s see; keep things running by going into a mine and digging out something that is needed with the proper safety gear, or going into a mine and digging out something with only the safety gear your boss couldn’t convince the the government to not require.

I know it’s nontrivial, but kit cars are a thing. If they won’t make the car you want, build it.
Please verify the process to make it street legal before buying the kit, though. Don’t want to end up with a car-sized paperweight.
