4·1 month agoAndroid has BSD-like permissive license. It’s open-source, but is also very very commercial. Google needed it to be open-source so phone manufacturers would adopt it, they all got burned on Windows Phone and Symbian and did not want another closed source OS that they could not modify for their specific hardware.
