We need some sort of cleverly worded campaign to say “without Ranked Choice Voting (or similar), there can be no true democracy.”
I’m sure some grassroots stuff could get off the ground for that in many states. Just need people to understand WHY it’s so important to leave First Past the Post behind.
Our problem as of now isnt how the leader is elected, it’s that he’s deliberately ignoring the restrictions placed on him, and is doing acts that were specifically given to other branches of government, overstepping bounds, etc., all while the other two branches do fuck all to stop it. We need people with spines in congress, but all of our politicians happen to be invertibrates.
You put too much faith in your (high level) politicians. That’s yet another of your problems, that once elected they seem to be able to do (or not do) whatever they want.
You americans are so fucked.
Maga: => fascism
Democrats: => weeell some status quoi I guess
Third party: => same thing as not vote at all
Good luck, you need it!

Look what happened to bernie. Now imagine a campaign about changing the fundamental way of voting. Organise with the a local org instead.
Isn’t the problem that it isn’t one election but everyone sends some grand electors (like the french IV republic)? Not how you vote “locally”?
That is for President, not Congress, nor State.
Well of course.
Some places have those representatives elect the ruler, sort of. Your problem seems to be with the ruler, how he’s elected and his powers

They’re trying to make ranked choice illegal in Ohio right now. SB 63
